Aziatix is an Asian-American music group composed of Eddie Shin, Jay "Flowsik" Pak, and Nicky Lee. The individuals in the group were brought together by veteran producer Jae Chong.[1] Since the group's inception, they have won "Best New Asian Artist Group" at the Mnet Asian Music Awards 2011, they've been featured in Newsweek Japan on January 2012 and the cover of Newsweek Korea on February 2012, and their latest album Awakening hit #1 U.S / Japan iTunes charts. The group has a strong international fanbase and has been gaining popularity, with their debut EP AZIATIX reaching #4 on U.S iTunes R&B/Soul charts.[2] Aziatix has recently been signed to Cash Money Records in February 2013. CEO of Cash Money Records, Slim announced that Aziatix is a new artist in their record label at YMCMB's Annual Pre-Grammy Party celebrating the 55th Grammy Awards.[3] They are also working with multiple Grammy award-winning producer RedOne on their upcoming album and shooting their new music video with Jeff Panzer. Aziatix was also recently mentioned on Billboardbiz where Cash Money Records' A&R representative, Joshua Berkman said "Aziatix represents a new worldwide focus for YMCMB." [4]

Musical career

The group formed in 2010, with producer Jae Chong bringing Nicky Lee, Flowsik, and Eddie Shin together (all pursuing their individual careers at the time).[5] Aziatix released their first single "Go" in March 2011 and their self-titled EP "Aziatix" in May 2011.

Following the release of Aziatix's first full length album Nocturnal in July 2011, the group performed in the U.S. for the first time at the Key Club in Los Angeles.[6] In November 2011, the group returned to the U.S. for their first official tour.[7] During this time, Aziatix also released music videos for their tracks "Go," "Slippin' Away," "A Game," "Be With You (Rock Mix)," and "Cold."

Aziatix released the single and the music video for "Speed of Light" on April 17, 2012.[8] They followed this with the release of a teaser for "Alright" on April 24, 2012.[9]

On May 2, 2012, Aziatix released a new EP album, "Awakening" which debuted on iTunes U.S. R&B/Soul chart at number 1. [citation needed][10]

In 2013, Aziatix signed a record deal with music label Cash Money Records.

Tours

In October 2011, Aziatix toured Japan performing in Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya. They again toured Japan in January 2012, this time performing at Tokyo, Osaka and Yokohama.

In November 2011, Aziatix embarked on a 10 city, 12 stop US tour, performing in cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.[11]

The group concluded their 2012 U.S. tour on April 1, 2012 with major stops in Seattle, Chicago, Washington DC, Dallas, Austin (SXSW) along with returning to New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
