Aujla

Aujla is a tribe of Jat people descended from their eponym Hajual Rajput. Aujla's are most common to the state of Punjab in India and usually of Sikh faith. They are found in the Majha, Malwa and Doaba regions of Punjab. There are many villages of this tribe in the Ludhiana district of Punjab. There are several villages of Aujlas in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Tarntaran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Hoshiarpur districts. There is also a small Muslim population of this surname in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Lahore and Sahiwal District in Punjab, Pakistan. With immigration the surname can be found all over the world with large populations in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Austria and North America. [1]
