Anton Kapustin

Anton Kapustin is a professor of theoretical physics at the California Institute of Technology. His interests lie in quantum field theory and string theory. He has also done pioneering work in non-commutative geometry.

His celebrated recent work with Edward Witten rephrases the geometric version of the Langlands conjecture in terms of certain dualities in supersymmetric gauge theories.

He is the son of the pianist-composer Nikolai Kapustin.

He gave an invited talk at the International Congress of Mathematicians in 2010, on the topic of "Mathematical Physics".^[1]
