Anchieta, Espírito Santo

Coordinates: 20°43′19″S 40°46′55″W / 20.72194°S 40.78194°W / -20.72194; -40.78194 Anchieta is a municipality in the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo. Its population was 21,834 in 2005 and its area is 404.88 km².[1] Its average elevation is 2m above sea level. Formerly known as Reritiba, the city was renamed after the Jesuit missionary José de Anchieta.
