Best known for her glamorous evening and cocktail dresses and accessories, and for her “clean glam” signature style, Amanda Wakeley has also developed a strong and rapidly growing presence in daywear, including chic day-dresses, impeccable tailoring and knitwear and a well-edited, but expanding line of accessories and fine jewellery. Amanda Wakeley Sposa is the brand’s striking bridal collection.

Amanda’s glamorous and chic evening creations are often chosen by some of the world’s most stylish woman for their appearances on the red carpet, from Beyonce and Florence Welch to Oscar-winning Helen Mirren and Angelina Jolie or Kate Winslet. Amanda Wakeley has also had the honour to dress many members of Royal families, most notably the late Princess of Wales, Queen Rania of Jordan and most recently The Duchess of Cambridge. Amanda’s gowns were recently worn by Bond girl Naomi Harris in Skyfall, the latest 007 James Bond film.[1]

Personal

Amanda discovered her passion for fashion early in life. Following a stint as a fashion model in New York in the 1980s, she launched her signature line in 1990, opening a small studio and boutique in the heart of Chelsea, London. Soon she was a favorite of London’s most stylish women, including the fashion icon of the time, Diana, Princess of Wales.

Since 2009, Amanda has built her brand and business with the lifestyle approach she had always envisioned, a vision that has recently attracted a substantial financial investment in the company from AGC Equity Partners, a private equity firm based in London, to fuel its expansion.

Amanda was awarded an OBE for her services to the fashion industry in 2010, and is also the winner of numerous awards, including three British Fashion Awards. Since 1996, Amanda has co-chaired the committee for the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer appeal leading the efforts to raise substantial funds to support the charity. [3]
