Alice McCall

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

'Alice McCall' is a London-born Australian fashion designer who got her start as a successful stylist in the London fashion scene. As a stylist, she worked with a variety of celebrity and corporate clients including Kelis, Blondie (band) and Marianne Faithful, as well as styling international advertising campaigns for MTV, Levi's, Nike and Rimmel.

In her spare time Alice began making one off silk tops and 50’s style customised vintage dresses. Her creations were purchased and worn by style icons Kate Moss and McQueen muse Katy England.

In 2002, Alice was head-hunted by British fashion label, Buddist Punk, where Alice designed the Spring/Summer 2002 range.[1] In 2003 after a chance meeting with Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke in Ibiza, the Sass and Bide designers flew McCall back to Australia to design for their brand.

Label

Launched at Australian Fashion Week in 2004, the Alice McCall brand is now stocked in over 165 boutiques and department stores across the UK, US, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific regions.[2] Alice McCall is also currently stocked in Australian department store David Jones.

The brand is known for combining elements of bohemian youthfulness, modernity, and sexiness with a touch of rock and roll. Often inspired by music icons and the rock and roll scene, the label is sought for its party dresses, playsuits, and statement-making separates.

Known fans of the alice McCall label include Natalie Imbruglia, Chloë Sevigny, Mischa Barton, Natalia Vodianova, Mandy Moore, Elle Macpherson, Rose Byrne and Gemma Ward.
