Alexander "Alex" Nazir Esmail[2] is a British actor who is best known for his role in the award winning film Attack the Block.[3][4][5][6][7]

Career

After making his debut in multi-award winning science fiction film Attack the Block in 2011,[8] Alex Esmail was nominated for Best Ensemble at the 2012 Black Reel Awards along with the rest of the cast, but lost to The Help.[9][10][11] In 2012 he went on to star in films Payback Season and Strippers vs Werewolves.[12][13][14] He also had roles in television shows Casualty and Switch.[15] Popcorn n Roses named him number 2, behind Lucas Cruikshank, on their list of rising stars of 2012.[16] He is starring alongside Steve Coogan in Northern Soul, which is currently in post-production and has a 2013 release date.[17]

Wrestling

Alex is also a member of the tag team wrestling duo "The Velocity Vipers".
