Alamgir (Bengali: আলমগীর) is a Bangladeshi film actor. He is also referred to as the Superhero of Bangladesh. Singer Akhi Alamgir is his daughter. Alamgir's first wife was Khoshnur Alamgir who was a songwriter. After their divorce Alamgir married singer Runa Laila.[2]

Early life

Acting career

Alamgir made his film debut in Amar Jonmovumi, directed by Alamgir Kabir. He acted in his second film Dasyu Rani. He worked in many films, drama and also as a presenter. In 1986, he directed his first film Nishpap. In his career, he received 7 National Film Awards and also received several other awards.

Personal life

Alamgir's first wife was Khoshnur Alamgir, with whom he has a daughter named Akhi Alamgir. He later married singer Runa Laila.

Alamgir is the host of Maasranga Television preached popular game show Houseful.[4][5] He has also acted a lot of TV drama.
