Location of Agatsuma District in Gunma Prefecture

Agatsuma (吾妻郡, Agatsuma-gun) is a district located in Gunma Prefecture, Japan.

As of July 1, 2011, the district has an estimated population of 60,253 and a population density of 47.1 persons per km². The total area is 1,278.27 km².

Mergers

On March 27, 2006 the town of Agatsuma, and the village of Azuma were merged to form the new town of Higashiagatsuma.
On March 28, 2010 the village of Kuni merged into the town of Nakanojō.
