Aarti Chabria (hindi - आरती छाबरिया ) (born 1982) is an Indian actress and a former model, who appears in Hindi, Telugu, Punjabi and Kannada movies.

Early life

Born in Mumbai, Chabria comes from a Hindu family.

Her father is Dr Ashok Chabria a dentist and her mother is Sunitha Chabria a designer of beaded curtains. She has a younger brother named Abhishek. Her family has no connections with the film Industry.

Career

Aarti Chabria began modeling at 3 years of age. She was the Farex Baby, and appeared in several commercials including Maggi Noodles, Pepsodent tooth paste, Clean and Clear face wash, Amul Frostick ice cream, LML Trendy Scooter, Krack Cream.[citation needed]

After completing her education, Chabria shot to fame when she was crowned "Miss India WorldWide 2000" in November 1999.[1] She then appeared in the music videos - Sukhwinder Singh's Nasha Hi Nasha, Adnan Sami's Roothe Hue Hai Kyo (from album Tera Chehra) and another titled Madhubala.

Her first leading role in a Bollywood film was Tumse Achcha Kaun Hai in 2002 which was a box office disaster, but before that she had appeared in a cameo role in Akansha and Lajja in 1989 and 2001 respectively and both the films were box office disasters as well. She has acted in a string of hindi films which performed poorly at the box office, namely Raja Bhaiya (2003), Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo (2004), Shaadi No 1 (2005), Ssukh (2006), Teesri Aankh (2006), Partner (2007), Toss (2009) and Dus Tola (2013). After she failed to make a name in the hindi film industry, she went south to try her luck there. She also acted in several South Indian (Telugu and Kannada) films as lead actress and they have all had average reviews.

She was the winner of the fourth season of Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2011.[2]

Aarti has also studied Film Making at the New York Film Academy in New York in 2012[citation needed]

Now she has taken part in the sixth season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (season 6) and was the 6th contestant to be eliminated on July 13th 2013.
