The A-Division is the top division of the Bhutan Football Federation, although its status as the premier football competition in 2012 is currently unclear. The competition held in 2012 was a Thimpu-based league, from which the top 3 teams qualified for a further competition termed the National League which also involves four other district level teams.[1] In November 2012 the Bhutan Football Federation announced the start of the country's first ever national league. Kicking off in December 2012 it featured six teams - three from the capital Thiumpu - and sponsored by Coca-Cola. Yeedzin FC was crowned as the first national champion of Bhutan.
