The 82nd Battalion, CEF was a unit in the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. Based in Calgary, Alberta, the unit began recruiting in the late summer of 1915 in that city. After sailing to England in May 1916, the battalion was absorbed into the 9th Battalion, CEF, on July 18, 1916. The 82nd Battalion, CEF, had one officer commanding: Lieutenant-Colonel W. A. Lowry.

The perpetuation of the 82nd Battalion was assigned to the Calgary Regiment in 1920. When this regiment split in two in 1924, perpetuation of the 82nd passed to the Calgary Highlanders.[1]
