81-720/721 (Yauza, Russian: Яуза), is a type of rolling stock for Moscow Metro. Production of "Yauza" discontinued.

History

The first test train was built in 1991 and tested in 1991-1994. The next test train was built in 1994. In 1996-2002 pilot series of 81-720/721 was built. In 2004 four 7-carriage trains were built as 81-720.1/721.1. Since 2004 Yauza production was discontinued because this model was very unreliable. Since 2008 81-720/721 6-carriage trains were transferred from Lyblunskaya line to Kachovskaya line. 81-720.1/721.1 remain on Lyblinskaya line. Since 2013 al Yauza carriages are refurbished.
