70942 Vandanashiva (provisional designation: 1999 WV8) is a main-belt minor planet. It was discovered by Stefano Sposetti at the Osservatorio Astronomico di Gnosca in Gnosca, Switzerland, on November 28, 1999. It is named after Vandana Shiva, an Indian philosopher, environmental activist, and author.
