3D Starfield
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A 3D Starfield is an effect which simulates the view out of the cockpit of a spaceship travelling through outer space at high speed, with stars moving towards the viewer.[1] It was popular in the early Demoscene.[1][2]
The 3D Starfield effect is also notable for its use as a screensaver, such as in the Starfield (or Flying Through Space) screensaver distributed with some versions of the Microsoft Windows Operating System, such as Microsoft Windows XP.[3]
