29133 Vargas (1987 KH5) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on May 29, 1987 by C. S. Shoemaker and E. M. Shoemaker at Palomar.
It was named in honor of Norman L. Vargas for his work in the organization and inventory of the Palomar Observatory's 1.2-m Schmidt Oschin Telescope plate archive, and for devoting time and energy to public outreach in astronomy through involvement in the Los Angeles Astronomical Society, Mount Wilson Observatory Association, and as a 60-inch telescope operator at the Mt. Wilson Observatory .
