The 2015 Sugar Bowl will be a College Football Playoff semifinals bowl game that will be played on January 1, 2015 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. This 81st Sugar Bowl game will match two top teams selected by the Selection Committee to compete for a spot at the College Football Playoff Championship game to be played on January 12, 2015 at AT&T Stadium, (Arlington, TX).[1] It is one of the 2014–15 bowl games that will conclude the 2014 FBS football season.
The contest will be televised on ESPN with a radio broadcast on ESPN Radio and XM Satellite Radio, with kickoff time to be announced at a later date.
Teams
The teams, ranked No. 2 and No. 3, will be officially selected by the selection committee of the College Football Playoff on Selection Sunday on December 7, 2014. When not hosting the semifinals of the new College Football Playoff system every three years, the bowl will feature the winners of the Southeastern Conference and Big 12 Conference Championship Games.
