The 2013 Bulgarian self-immolations were a wave of self-immolations in public places caused by the 2013 Bulgarian protests against the Borisov cabinet in early spring.[1][2] Trayan Marechkov is the first to have set himself on fire, on 18 February 2013. Suicides by self-immolation are not common in Bulgaria.
