The 1982 Yco-Tanduay season was the eighth season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Off-season transactions
Acquired four rookies; J.B Yango and Frankie Lim of San Beda College, Zaldy Latoza and Melvin Martin.
Notable dates
March 9: Won their first game of the season, defeated Gilbey's, 112-105, as the Esquires overcame Lew Massey's 61-point output for the Gins.
August 22: Import Curtis Berry scored 35 points and grabbed 23 rebounds, in a 95-88 win over Toyota, at the start of the Open Conference.
Summary
Powered by last year's best import Russell Murray, Yco-Tanduay finished the First Conference elimination phase with an even 9-win, 9-loss slate, the Esquires were swept in two games by the Toyota Super Corollas in the best-of-three quarterfinals.
With 6-11 Jerome Henderson and 6-8 Curtis Berry as their imports in the third conference, Yco-Tanduay were third behind N-Rich Coffee and Gilbey's with an 11-7 card after 18 games, Yco-Tanduay lost to Toyota, 105-116, on November 23, in the final day of the quarterfinal round, and were eliminated from the four-team semifinals.
