1956 LPGA Championship

The 1956 LPGA Championship was played at Forest Lake Country Club in Detroit, Michigan. This was the second edition of the LPGA Championship and was played from June 21-24.
This championship was won by Marlene Hagge, for her first and only LPGA Championship victory in her career. Hagge won in a sudden death playoff over Patty Berg, who missed a bogey putt on the first playoff hole to stay alive.
