1859 Kovalevskaya

1859 Kovalevskaya is an asteroid discovered September 4, 1972 by L. V. Zhuravleva. It is an outer main belt asteroid with a diameter of 46.02 kilometers.[1]
Name
The asteroid was named in honor of Sofia Kovalevskaya, a Russian mathematician.
Discoverer
Zhuravleva is ranked 43 in Harvard's ranking of those who discovered minor planets. She discovered 200 such bodies, 13 of which were co-discoveries, between 1972 and 1992.[2]
