Žuvėdra

Žuvėdra is a dancesport formation dance team currently affiliated with Klaipėda University, Klaipėda, Lithuania. It was founded in 1965 by the veterans of Lithuanian ballroom dance Skaistė Idzelevičienė and Romaldas Idzelevičius.

During 1995-2006, it was in the top 3 places in European and World Latin formation championships, taking world first places in 2002-2005. Besides competitions, the team gives concerts in many European countries.

On September 23, 2006, at Siemens Arena in Vilnius Žuvėdra won the fourth consecutive European title leaving their perpetual rivals, German Grün-Gold-Club e.V. Bremen and TSG Bremerhaven e. V., behind.

On December 3, 2011, at the same Siemens Arena in Vilnius Žuvėdra became World Champions after 3 year period. That was the 7th title at the World Championships. The previous titles came from the years 1999, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2008. Žuvėdra holds also 7 European titles from 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2009.
