Živadin Jovanović (Serbian: Живадин Јовановић) (born 14 November 1938, Oparić, Municipality of Rekovac, Serbia, Yugoslavia), is a Serbian diplomat and politician, who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia between 1998 and 2000.[1]
Career
Jovanović completed High School in Jagodina, Serbia in 1957 and graduated from the University of Belgrade's Law School in 1961. He held various diplomatic positions in FPR Yugoslavia. Firstly, he served as Yugoslav Vice Consul in Toronto, Canada between 1966 and 1970, Advisor in Yugoslav Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya between 1974 and 1978 and finally as the Yugoslav Ambassador to Angola between 1988 and 1993.
He was Vice President of Socialist Party of Serbia during Milošević era and also served as a Member of Parliament of the Republic of Serbia between 1998 and 2000.
Jovanović speaks English, Russian, French and Portuguese.
Following Milošević's overthrow from 5 October 2000, Jovanović lost position of the Foreign Minister of Yugoslavia and became more engaged in Belgrade Forum for the world of equals, a non profit association which promotes ideas of peace, cooperation, development, equality of nations, states, and people; advocating observance of social, economic, civil, and other human tights; fight against terrorism and separatism and against any form of discrimination and dominance.[2]
He is currently President of Belgrade Forum of the world of equals, since 2005.[3]
