Özkan Yorgancıoğlu (born 1954) is a Cyprus political leader who has been serving as the Prime Minister of the island nation's Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) since September 2013.
Born in Lempa, a village in Paphos, the southwestern district of the island which was, at the time, a British crown colony, Yorgancıoğlu studied at Istanbul University's Department of Economics and Public Finance, receiving his Political Science degree in 1980.[1] On 28 April 2005, he was appointed as Minister of Youth and Sports[2] in the cabinet of TRNC Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer who served from April 2005 to May 2009. He replaced Soyer as chairman of the Republican Turkish Party[3] and following the July 28, 2013 Parliamentary election and the defeat of Prime Minister İrsen Küçük who served from 2010, Yorgancıoğlu submitted his cabinet list to TRNC President Derviş Eroğlu on 31 August 2013[4] and replaced interim Prime Minister Sibel Siber on 2 September.[5]
