African D

African D (Ɖ, ɖ) is a Latin letter representing the voiced retroflex plosive [ɖ]. Its lower-case form is also used to represent this sound in the International Phonetic Alphabet. It is a part of the African reference alphabet, designed in 1978 to unify the spelling of numerous African languages. It is used by Fon, Aja, and Bassa.

On computers, it is represented by the Unicode code points U+0189 (Latin Capital Letter African D) and U+0256 (Latin Small Letter D with Tail).
