Éothain is a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium who appears in his book, The Lord of the Rings.

He was a member of Éomer’s éored that had overrun the Orcs who had captured Merry and Pippin, and later encountered Aragorn and his companions on the wide fields of Rohan. Éothain was not as trusting as his commander, scoffing at the idea that hobbits even existed, and arguing against the gift of horses to the three companions, especially Gimli.

Another Éothain can be found in The Lord of the Rings movies directed by Peter Jackson. This character is a young boy from a village that is sieged by Saruman's Uruk-hai, who is sent with his sister, by his mother, to warn Théoden at Edoras. See List of original characters in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy for details.
