iPassConnect

iPassConnect is mobility software produced by iPass in 1999 which allows mobile devices such as laptop computers, PDAs, and other internet enabled devices (iPod Touch) to connect to the Internet over Wi-Fi hotspots, Ethernet, Dialup, and mobile broadband network services such as HSUPA, EVDO, 1xRTT, GPRS and UMTS. The Wi-Fi services are available in hotels and airports across the world allowing travelling individuals to access the Internet without paying per-location fees. The software validates the authentication of a hotspot and then encrypts a user's authentication data. If a guest is using iPass in a hotel that provides internet connection from an alternative ISP then the user will not be able to use iPass authentication for the connection and will possibly be required to pay the hotel fees for access..
