getAbstract (founded 1999) is a Swiss- and US-based corporation that is best known for creating abstracts (summaries) of business books (business book summaries). getAbstract delivers Abstracts of books -- currently more than 7000 titles.[1] Many companies offer their employees full access to getAbstract's library. Many media companies such as The Economist[2], Financial Times[3][4], Bloomberg Television[5] [6] [7] , Mint (newspaper)[8] (the Indian edition of The Wall Street Journal), Shanghai Daily[9], Die Weltwoche[10], The Press-Enterprise (California)[11][12], Neue Zürcher Zeitung [13] and others [14][15][16] regularly publish getAbstract's book reviews. The company hosts a regular book talk on Swiss National Television[17]. getAbstract offers thousands of summaries of the best books ever published.
Since 2008, getAbstract honors the most profound idea books of the year. The award ceremony always takes place at the first Wednesday of the Frankfurt Book Fair[18]. getAbstract was founded in 1999 by Rolf Dobelli, PhD, and Thomas Bergen. Later the same year, Patrick Brigger, PhD, joined as third co-founder. He currently serves as the company’s CTO. getAbstract employs a vast network of seasoned business journalists for the creation of its content.
