Zuidplaspolder

The Zuidplaspolder is a polder in the Netherlands, containing the lowest point of Western Europe and in the entire European Union (shared with Lammefjord in Denmark). Close to the town of Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, it reaches a depth of 7.0 metres (23.0 ft) under the mean sea level at the Dutch coast (officially under the Normaal Amsterdams Peil, which is close to the mean sea level).[1]
