ZhayTee (Joseph Toscano) is a Worcester, MA-based composer who releases his music under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 License. ZhayTee writes in varying genres, mostly preferring the piano and the synthesizer, but is perhaps best known as a game music composer. His work appears in a Half Life 2 modification called Minerva: Metastasis as well as the computer game Tux Racer. In 2002 he briefly gained widespread attention when the gaming news site IGN discovered and publicized the demo song ZhayTee had recorded as part of a declined bid to compose the music for the GCN game Metroid Prime.
He has also composed tracks for GPL games such as Battle for Wesnoth and Pingus.
ZhayTee is unrelated to the Australian anarchist Joseph Toscano.
