Zelfo

Zelfo is a patented bioplastic that is composed with a cellulose 'matrix' material and functions without the use of glues or resins. This material can be formed into many different products (e.g. panels, furniture, musical instruments, homeware, lighting, kitchenware etc.) The material is colored throughout using a spectrum of environmentally considered pigments and dyes. Zelfo can be made with new or recyled (up-cycled) fibres such as flax, jute, hemp, Sugar cane, sisal, straw, recycled textiles, waste paper, brewery draff, and other cellulose-bearing raw materials. It can be used as an alternative to synthetic materials such as plastics, metals, glass, fiberglass, and other chemically processed materials.[1]

Zelfo was ranked number 21 in Fast Company's 6th Annual Fast 50 column.[2]
