Yichang East Railway Station (simplified Chinese: 宜昌东站; traditional Chinese: 宜昌東站; pinyin: Yíchāng-dōng Zhàn) is a railway station under construction in Yichang City, Hubei Province, People's Republic of China. It will be the junction of the two sections of the Huhanrong Passenger Dedicated Line (Shanghai-Hankou-Chengdu): the Hanyi Railway, going east to Hankou (Wuhan), and the Yiwan Railway going west to Wuzhou.
The Hanyi Railway will be operated by the Wuhan Railway Bureau, Ministry of Railways of the PRC
The construction of the station started in January 2005[1].
Some trains, such as the Yichang-Beijng West service, will already start serving Yichang East Station (instead of the older Yichang Station in downtown Yichang) as of December 23, 2010. Construction work, however, will continue into 2011.[2]
The existing Yichang Railway Station (which is served by conventional trains).
