Kalyani (earlier Kalyampet) is avillages in Yellareddy mandal at a distance of 3 kilometers from Yellareddy. This village has got more history and heritage than Yellareddy itself. Earlier, dwellers on Yellareddy used to come to this village for shopping and for other transactions, but since Yellareddy has had good road connectivity, it has become the hub of the mandal. Now most of the people from Kalyani have migrated to Yellareddy because the problem with the village of Kalyani is that there are too many internal conflicts, too much dirty politics and too many corrupt politicians. In Kalyani, the literacy rate is pretty high. Kalyani also has good road facilities.
