Music video

On January 7, 2008, the video for "Yahhh!" premiered on BET Access Granted.[1] The video parodies people trying to get Soulja Boy's autograph, including Duane Chapman of Dog the Bounty Hunter, an imitation of Hillary Clinton and an imitation of Britney Spears, who appears to be intoxicated. The video also featured a stop-motion animated puppet that interacted with the cast. The video ranked at #92 on BET's Notarized: Top 100 Videos of 2008 countdown. After the main "Yahhh!" video, a short clip of Soulja Boy's song "Report Card" plays and features Soulja Boy, Arab and others dancing to the song at a school. The video ends with Soulja Boy telling kids to stay in school and smiles. He also states that he gets straight A's.

The original version of "Yahhh!" was leaked in Summer 2006 and has the words "Yahhh, bitch, yahhh!", whereas the clean/edited version has the words edited into "Yahhh, trick, yahhh!". It was recorded on FL Studio about a year prior to Soulja Boy and Arab's signing to Collipark Records. Some lyrics are different, such as when Soulja Boy and Arab talk about the new CD by the 30/30 Boyz, their group before signing to Collipark Records. The original lyrics also say "Get out my face, ho" and the clean/edited version just says "Get out my face," with those words echoing once after they're said. And so is another is different in the clean/edited version when Arab says he does not have any time to talk. He says. "Ain't got time for chit-chat I'm trying to get the money so get up out my face you doo-doo head dummy!" but in the original version he said "Ain't got time for chit-chat I'm trying to get this money so get up out my face you shit-breath dummy!". Soulja Boy said in the dirty version "Sitting at the house and a nigga can't sleep, leave me alone hoe before I have to knock your ass out!". Soulja Boy said in the clean version "Sitting at the house and I can't sleep, leave me alone foe before I have to knock yo lights out!".

Critical reception

The song received extremely negative reviews from critics. Alex Fletcher of Digital Spy gave the song one star out of five, and wrote, "Based around Soulja boy and pal Arab screaming incomprehensible gibberish, the repeated line "Yahhh, Trick, Yahhh!" is more irritating than a life's supply of itching powder, while the bargain bucket synth soundtrack sounds like an old Nokia ringtone."[2] Jeff Weiss of LA Weekly wrote that it was a "legitimate attempt to dethrone 'My Humps' for its ignominious distinction as dumbest song ever recorded."[3]
