Yad Eliyahu

Yad Eliyahu (Hebrew: יד אליהו‎) is a neighborhood in the south-east part of Tel Aviv, Israel. The neighborhood was established in 1945 mainly for british army veterans, especially from the local population. It is named after the Hagana leader Eliyahu Golomb.

The neighborhood is also the location of Nokia Arena, home to the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team.

Yad Eliyahu is the biggest neighborhood in Tel Aviv.

Military Base

Yad Eliyahu is also the name of a military base located East of Sderot, near Ashdod and the Gaza Strip.

Local Rabbi

The local Rabbi for Yad Eliyahu is Rabbi Moshe Maya. He is a former politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Shas between 1992 and 1996, and as Deputy Minister of Education and Culture from 1992 until 1993. [1]
