65 kDa Yes-associated protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the YAP1 gene.[1][2]
This gene encodes the human ortholog of chicken YAP protein which binds to the SH3 domain of the Yes proto-oncogene product. This protein contains a WW domain that is found in various structural, regulatory and signaling molecules in yeast, nematode, and mammals, and may be involved in protein-protein interaction.[2]
YAP1 has been shown to interact with Mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 7,[3] ERBB4,[4] Sodium-hydrogen antiporter 3 regulator 1,[5] TP53BP2[6] and P73.[7]
