Xi'an Polytechnic University (Chinese: 西安工程大学; pinyin: Xī'ān Gōngchéng Dàxué) is a college located in Xi'an, in the Shaanxi province, China.
Xi'an Polytechnic University was founded in 1912 as the machine-weaving facility of the Beijing High Industry School.[4] The school was approved in 1978 to set up the Northwest Textile Institute, one of the three national institutions controlled directly by the national Ministry of Textiles.[4] In 1998, control transferred to the Shaanxi Province Ministry of Education, and the name of the school was changed to Xi'an Polytechnic University in 2001.[1]
The engineering course is the leading major of the university. Other majors at the school include literature, management, economics, science, law, and education.[4]
