Geography

Woolstock is located at (42.566730, -93.845030)[1] just north of Eagle Creek's confluence with the Boone River.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 km2), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 204 people, 98 households, and 62 families residing in the city. The population density was 197.7 people per square mile (76.5/km²). There were 101 housing units at an average density of 97.9 per square mile (37.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.04% White, 0.49% Native American, 0.49% from other races, and 0.98% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.49% of the population.

There were 98 households out of which 17.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.1% were married couples living together, 3.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.7% were non-families. 35.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.08 and the average family size was 2.60.

In the city the population was spread out with 16.2% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 21.1% from 25 to 44, 33.3% from 45 to 64, and 23.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 50 years. For every 100 females there were 92.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.8 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $34,479, and the median income for a family was $47,500. Males had a median income of $27,917 versus $28,594 for females. The per capita income for the city was $20,599. About 1.7% of families and 4.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including none of those under the age of eighteen and 2.3% of those sixty five or over.
