Women in World Neuroscience is a committee of the International Brain Research Organization.

In 2008, the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) created a standing ad hoc committee, Women in World Neuroscience (WWN). WWN's mission is to improve career development, mentoring and networking opportunities for women neuroscientists around the world, with special attention to women in disadvantaged regions.
The participation of women in science is of importance everywhere but assumes special significance in parts of Asia, Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, where women face challenging conditions imposed by tradition, culture, religion or politics. IBRO has a long-standing presence in many of these regions and is committed to help propose and implement solutions.
WWN encompasses over 55,000 members from more than 80 academies, national and regional societies.
The mission of the WWN is to foster an improved environment for career advancement in neuroscience for women in all regions of the world.
WWN held meetings, luncheons and needs assessments in the U.S.A., Canada, India, Egypt and several other countries in 2009 and plans to continue these in 2010, including hosting a WWN event in 2010 at the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) meeting in Amsterdam .[1]
