Withielgoose or Withel-goose is a hamlet in Cornwall, England, UK. It is accessed via Withielgoose Lane and contains the Withielgoose Manor.[1] Withielgoose belongs historically to the parish of Withiel along with Retire and Tregawen; the parish had a total population of about 300 in 1824.[2]
Withielgoose Manor belonged to Bodmin Priory and had belonged to William I by the Earl of Cornwall under the church of St. Petroc at Bodmin.[3] It was leased by the crown in 1539 to Richard Kendall, and, in 1588, granted in fee-farm to Richard Branthwayte and Roger Bromley. It then was occupied by the Coswarth family followed by the Vyvyan family who still owned it in the early 1800s.[4]
