Witchampton is a village in East Dorset, England, situated on the River Allen 5 miles (8 km) north of Wimborne Minster. The village has a population of 377 (As of 2001[update]).[1]
11th century whalebone chess pieces were found here, which are some of the best surviving early English chess pieces.[2]
