State Trunk Highway 80 (often called Highway 80, STH 80 or WIS 80) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It runs north–south in southwest and west central Wisconsin from Pittsville, near the geographic center of the state to the Illinois border near Hazel Green.[1]
Going south from Pittsville, the terrain is flat until reaching New Lisbon. South of New Lisbon, it enters the driftless area with many rolling hills and curves. The drive is slow, but beautiful. The entire route north of Monfort is largely forested, interspersed with small fields. South of Monfort, the terrain remains hilly, but the land has less forests and more hills.
Future
Wisconsin DOT has proposed extending WI 80 from Pittsville to US 10 south of Marshfield. The extension would run where WI 13 presently is located between Pittsville and Marshfield. WI 13 will be rerouted east of its present location.
