Wilson is a village in Belmont and Monroe counties in the US State of Ohio. It is part of the Wheeling, West Virginia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 118 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Wilson is located at (39.862506, -81.070815)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.2 km²), of which 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) (12.50%) is water.

Demographics

At the 2000 census[2], there were 118 people, 52 households and 39 families residing in the village. The population density was 282.6 per square mile (108.5/km²). There were 59 housing units at an average density of 141.3 per square mile (54.2/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 99.15% White, and 0.85% from two or more races.

There were 52 households of which 23.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.3% were married couples living together, 5.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.1% were non-families. 21.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.63.

Age distribution was 18.6% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 22.0% from 25 to 44, 31.4% from 45 to 64, and 22.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 47 years. For every 100 females there were 118.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 118.2 males.

The median household income was $32,188, and the median family income was $43,125. Males had a median income of $36,875 versus $20,833 for females. The per capita income for the village was $18,552. There were 2.6% of families and 4.3% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 12.5% of those over 64.
