Wide Game is a type of game played in a large area, such as a field, heathland or woodland. It is commonly played by Girl Guides and other groups of young people. The game can have many possible objectives, including capture-the-flag, capture-the-enemy, or be a variant of British Bulldog. The game can also be a variation of another game (such as football, rugby, ultimate Frisbee). Some non-violent youth groups such as the Woodcraft Folk have elaborated the role-playing and costume elements of wide-games.
Wide game techniques and approaches are being re-worked for modern cities and modern technology, in games such as "Day of the Figurines", in which mobile phone communication is heavily used between players.

Complete the objective of the game. Young children may play by "non-contact" rules, where they are not allowed to hit other players. Most groups over the age of 10 or 11 play "contact" rules where players are allowed to stop the other team from moving (usually by using rugby tackles).
This is one variation of The Wide Game:
The game is split up into four rounds - each team is allocated a base to start. Each player is equipped with a tennis ball and a life (This could be a bottle top or a button) The tennis ball is worthless to everyone except the player. A life is worth one point. The tennis ball has to be thrown underarm and must hit the person below the shoulders. Should the ball hit, the player has to surrender his life and any other lives he has captured and items / treasure. The person hit must return to a place where they will receive another bottle top. The person with the treasure and bottle tops should return to their base and give their treasure and captured lives to the leader / adult in the base. If the treasure is not in the base by the end of the round, but still in possession of a player, then the treasure does not count. If a person finds a leader and returns the leader back in time, he / she is worth 200 points. When returning a found leader back to the base, the player is safe.
