WiO is a free mobile application[1] that enables users to receive information, as well as various deals and discounts, from the brands they see advertised in television commercials and programs.[1][2][3]

Technology

The app uses digital audio identification technology.[1][4] With WiO running on a user's smartphone, the app "hears" audio content and identifies it, subsequently relaying information, deals, and discounts relevant to the brands featured in the commercials or programs being viewed. Content must first be WiO-enabled and provided a digital ID in order for this to occur.[1][2]

Company

WiO is the first app released by WiOffer, a digital technology company.[1][2] WiOffer was founded by Andrew Pakula and Matt Greene in 2010.[1][2]
