Westport Middle School is a comprehensive middle school located at 300 East 39th Street in Kansas City, Missouri. It is part of the Kansas City, Missouri School District.
Westport Middle School is most likely named after Westport, a historic neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri that was originally its own town. It was annexed by Kansas City in 1897.[1] The middle school is across the street from Westport High School. They were both charter schools since 1999-2004.
It became Westport 8th Grade Center after the 2007-2008 school year. The school was occupied by 8th grade students from J. A. Rogers and Westport Middle. The transition of K-8 only schools has caused the school to be closed until further notice.
