Western Canadian Championship 2008
The Western Canadian Championship 2008 was a Gaelic football competition. Canada's west coast, in the provinces of British Columbia & Alberta, Gaelic Football teams compete for the title of Western Canadian Champions. The Western Canadian Championship is played out every year between the member teams of the Western Canada Division. Each year the Championship is played out over round-robin matches in each gender, with each of the 4 member clubs playing the other teams twice over the summer months. The following is a summary of how the 2008 Championship played out.
Men's and Ladies' Results
Ladies
After first Round action, Edmonton Wolfe Tones topped the table with a narrow victory over the Harps, and Harps & Wolfe Tones managed to beat the Chieftainettes. Unfortunately for the competition, the Albertan Ladies were unable to muster any teams for the Burnaby event, and so forfeited their games and right to the Championship.

After the first Round, it looks good for the Calgary Chieftains with their 2 victories. The Draw between the other contenders, all but rules out either sides chances of clawing back the Chieftains.
