Aldingbourne is a village and civil parish in the Arun district of West Sussex, England, with a population of 3,612 (2001 census). It is about five miles (8 km) north of Bognor Regis and six miles (10 km) east of Chichester.
The parish, named for the small village of Aldingbourne, also contains the much larger settlement of Westergate, as well as smaller settlements at Norton, Nyton, Woodgate and Lidsey.

First documented in 683AD as Aldingburne, then 200 years later as Ealdingburnan, the name describes a stream or bourne (now known as Aldingbourne Rife) belonging to Ealda, a Saxon settler.[2]
Agriculture is the main industry in the parish, with many horticultural nurseries including the world renowned Denman Gardens.[3]
The parish is home to Fontwell Park Racecourse a horse racing course. It features a figure-of-eight chase course and an oval hurdles course.
