West Sand (Xisha Zhou; Chinese: 西沙洲; Vietnamese: Cồn Cát Tây) is an island located in the Amphitrite Group of the Paracel Islands in the South China Sea.[1] It is administrated by the People's Republic of China. Sovereignty over the island is disputed by Vietnam. It is approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Tree Island.
