Weera Keppetipola Central College, Akuramboda

Weera Keppetipola Central College is located in the village of Akuramboda, Matale District, Sri Lanka. It is one of three Central Colleges established in 1941 by C. W. W. Kannangara.

History

Organized education in Akuramboda dates back to 1880.^[1] Minister of Education C. W. W. Kannangara declared the school open on 6 January 1941. In 1985, the government converted to school to a center for army activities. Local appeals to revert the campus to a school were granted and the school reopened on 9 September 1991. After that this school was declared as a sports school by the education ministry.
